Thanksgiving Part Uno

Our lovely friends Traci and Sanjeev own a local restaurant here in the center of Assisi. This time of year mandates that they take only a few short breaks. So, a Thursday celebration of the holiday would not be an option. Nor would celebrating without them be. Traci is an American who loves America traditions despite the fact that she has been a resident of Assisi for many years. Sanjeev is her business partner, a master of Indian cuisine, and an important guest at any type of celebration. That is why Dolores and Scott planned a Thanksgiving dinner for a group of thirteen guests, on the day before the actual holiday and not one person complained!

Wine, food, great company. Turkey! Ocean State cranberry sauce (we brought it over). Pies, baked by Scott. Whipped cream, one of my contributions (can you imagine how great that was, using cream that was chemical free). Everyone contributed to the beautiful bounty that landed on the big table that Scott custom-made just for the day.

Conversations were fun and, with a group of international guests, interesting and oh, so warm and embracing.

The weather cooperated and the short walk to the home of our hosts was easy. The walk home, not as much. After all, we weighed a few more pounds than we did on the way to dinner. And that after dinner Glenlivet  made the departure all the more difficult.
