Merry Christmas to All

 With the election over and done (remember, it was won by a Republican so, it's over. No need to rape, pillage or rally men with guns and storm any public buildings. No need for chaos), it's time to move on, to start the preamble to the mystical, magical season during which we are constantly reminded of how lovely and peaceful the world might be. Joy is spread. Goodwill and kindness are highlighted from the end of November through the entire month of December. Be of good cheer. Love is in the air. It's the most wonderful time of the year and millions and millions more cards are printed, signed, mailed and placed on mantles in homes all over the world. 

Each year, I unearth the lovely holiday greetings that we received the year before. In our house, they serve as a reminder of friends and neighbors who took the time and shared their sentiments. I pause with each card or note and in some cases, my heart skips a beat or two. A few tears are shed. A lot happens between holidays as we all age another year. 

I saved a greeting from last year that really touched me. I printed it out from my computer and read it over and over again. Each time I do, I find myself in awe. It's so well written, so magical and so representative of the sender. I like it for its inclusivity, for its power of words and for its honesty. Beware as you read it. It might bring a tear to your eyes so get your tissues handy. And try to remember as you do, it was written with honesty and the true spirit of Christmas in one person's eyes.
